Growing up I was always talked down to. I would always hear “you’re going to be a pregnant teen and drop out of school.” Even my own family would say these things to me. Despite hearing these negative comments, I worked hard towards my goals. In fact, when people said this to me it motivated me and pushed me harder. While I wasn’t perfect growing up, all the successes and failures throughout the years have made me who I am today.

As a teenager I had my flaws. I was rebellious and defied authority at every chance I had. I talked back to my parents without thinking whether my words would be hurtful. However, that changed the day I told myself I didn’t want that to be my life. I made a promise to myself to not treat people that way anymore and to focus on being more positive. Most importantly I was determined to prove to everyone that the person they were seeing was not the true me.

I am happy to say that I graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA, while working two jobs my senior year. I was in choir, played soccer, ran cross country, and track and field.

Fast forward to post-high school life, after everything life and adversity threw my way, I felt I was finally on my way to accomplishing my dreams. I had kept my promise to myself throughout high school and continue to do so to this day.

Good things were happening because of the actions I was taking towards my future. I wasn’t letting anyone else direct my life. I truly feel that you are your own advocate. Only you know what you want and only you can make that happen. I believe that no one should make you feel like you have no power over your life.

I now work as a medical assistant for one of the top neurosurgeons in the country and am currently working towards starting my own business. Yay for female small business owners! I am a mother to a beautiful 4 month old boy and I am so excited to embark on this new journey in hopes that I will leave a legacy that I can pass on to my son.

I am an owner of a boutique. A boutique that will hopefully inspire mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends to dress confidently. The boutique will include a little bit of everything. Through my instagram account, I will be sharing my journey postpartum and how I am learning to love my new body. I hope to help others not be ashamed of the way bodies change after bringing a new life into this world. I hope to show other women that the changes our bodies go through are beautiful and we can still dress fashionably, regardless of our body type. I hope to show people how to use one garment in multiple ways.
I am a proud latina woman and I am here to help you feel confident in your own skin every day. I will show you outfits that can be used for everyday life, going out, date night, family time and more. I will remind you that beauty lies in the simplicity of things and not what our society has created it to be. I hope to inspire you to love your body and to most importantly to love yourself.
